Role Overview

We are looking for a Finance manager to fill our Reporting and Analytics Centre of Excellence Manager position. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a key function in transforming how financial data, analytics, and reporting are delivered. In your role you will lead continuous improvement across the organisation in financial reporting, planning, and analytics capabilities.

 

You will require a blend of strong FP&A expertise, collaboration, and influencing skills to drive strategic initiatives, champion automation, and enhance data governance practices.

 

Working closely with Business unit FP&A teams, Group Finance and  IT's Data as a Service function, this role acts as a key bridge between finance and technology. It drives improvements in reporting processes, and analytics capabilities while enabling teams to adopt modern tools and approaches effectively.

 

You will lead a team of 3 and you will partner with business unit finance teams to deliver scalable planning and reporting solutions.

 

You will have direct access to the Group Financial Planning Director, the Group CFO, and Business Unit Finance Directors within a FTSE 250 Plc.

 

 

You Will

  1. Reporting and Analytics Management:
    • Develop and maintain centralised analytics capabilities, including Power BI dashboards and TM1-based reporting solutions.
    • Standardise reporting templates and methodologies to improve consistency and usability across business units.
    • Introduce advanced analytical capabilities, such as predictive models and scenario analysis, to enhance insight generation.
  2. Data Governance and Quality:
    • Collaborate with IT and business unit FP&A teams to ensure data quality, accessibility, and governance across financial and operational datasets.
    • Define and implement data quality standards and monitoring tools to ensure data health and integrity.
    • Oversee financial hierarchies, reporting structures, and KPI definitions to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  3. Championing Analytics and Automation:
    • Advocate for automation and analytics adoption in financial workflows to improve efficiency and insight generation.
    • Collaborate with IT and data specialists to align technical solutions with FP&A objectives.
    • Lead discussions to identify and prioritise opportunities for automation and analytics.
  4. Training and Enablement:
    • Provide training and support to FP&A teams on effectively using reporting tools and methodologies.
    • Enable teams to leverage centralised data and analytics tools to improve decision-making processes.
  5. Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Build strong relationships across finance, IT, and business units, becoming a trusted advisor on FP&A transformation.
    • Use gravitas and influencing skills to gain buy-in for initiatives that improve FP&A capabilities and efficiency.
    • Foster a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

Key qualifications and experience:

  • Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience.
  • Proven experience in managing financial reporting and analytics functions, with expertise in tools such as Power BI and TM1.
  • Strong leadership experience, including managing teams responsible for reporting, analytics, and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles, including data ownership, quality management, and integration.
  • Excellent collaboration and influencing skills, with experience working in a matrixed organisation.

 

Desired skills:

  • Technical competence in financial reporting systems, including Power BI development, dashboard design, and TM1 (or similar) management.
  • Ability to work effectively with IT teams to influence data pipeline design and system integration.
  • Passion for championing automation and advanced analytics to drive FP&A transformation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the gravitas to influence senior stakeholders.
