Role Overview

PIC North America, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a highly motivated Genetic Services Specialist responsible for executing and communicating genetic services to internal and external customers of PIC in North America. The goal of genetic services is to maximize the success of our customers by ensuring the delivery of superior genetics to their business operations. This position is located onsite in our Hendersonville, TN office.

 

The successful candidate will provide technical knowledge, advice, and support to sales representatives, resellers, and customers during the sales process. This dynamic role requires the ability to resolve technical issues, maximize the benefits derived from the organization’s products and services, and effectively position the PIC Genetic Program with its customers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and implementation skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment. Additionally, they will be capable of working autonomously, establishing priorities, and collaborating across global, functional teams, with excellent organizational, interpersonal, technical writing, and presentation skills.

You Will

  • Provide Genetic Services to PIC customers as part of PIC Account teams.
  • Support genetic implementation in customer multipliers and gene transfer centers by accurately monitoring, identifying opportunities and implementing action plans targeting maximum commercial level merit in our customer systems.
  • Participate in development, enhancement, and execution of routine genetic services to internal and external customers that include:
    • Product performance forecasting through modeling
    • Pre- and post-sale sire selection
    • Dam-line dissemination within customer systems
    • On-farm execution of breeding programs
    • Routine reporting to customer and account teams with key focus on execution
  • Interpret and analyze customer data using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop training and support materials on PIC products and genetic programs; explain the benefits of new technologies and enhancements to PIC products and genetic programs
  • Travel approximately 50%

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • A university degree in Animal Sciences, Animal Breeding or Quantitative Genetics
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in animal breeding including an understanding of the technologies/techniques that are used to make genetic improvement as well as a strong knowledge of statistics and utilizing statistical packages to analyze data.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in project management
  • Ability to demonstrate past work products and associated successes
  • Fluent in English (required)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Microsoft Office, Power BI, and other relevant software applications, such as R.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Fluent in Spanish
