Research Technician

Genus plc has an exciting opportunity. We are seeking a Research Technician to execute the Production-related activities that primarily support the PIC, ABS and IntelliGen Product Development teams. The position will be in our Waunakee location and will be 100% on-site. The Research Technician will have primary accountability for ensuring that Production activities are executed and meet all quality and timeline metrics.

The successful candidate will demonstrate technical consistency and data uniformity, provide accurate reporting of results, willingness to adapt to shifting resourcing and priorities, conscientious about using time effectively, and displaying integrity in all aspects of the experimental process.

The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $77,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

• Effectively perform all aspects related to cell culture, data analysis, and reporting results for karyotyping and FISH
• Communication of all results and highlighting exceptions will be timely and accurate. Highlights to leaders and teammates when non-uniformity is observed and engages proactively in investigating cause(s)
• Participate in technical improvement opportunities around visualization and accelerating throughput
• Demonstrates consistency in performance and data quality
• Execute all production genotyping activities efficiently and in a timely fashion.
• Participate in projects to expand technical skills and deepen knowledge base.
• Maintain positive communications and work effectively with regular lab employees, supervisors and outside researchers as needed. 
• Promote a safe environment following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations

• Associates degree with focus on biotechnology/molecular biology or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Animal Sciences with 0-3 years of relevant experience in a commercial setting.
• Educational experiences and knowledge base in a laboratory setting that will allow you to link to work environment, including examples of how experience and knowledge from previous education/roles will ensure success in the current role.
