We’re looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our team in DeForest, Wisconsin. The HR Intern will gain valuable, hands-on exposure across the entire HR spectrum—from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations and everyday HR operations. If you’re proactive, detail-obsessed, and ready to roll up your sleeves, we want to hear from you.
Shift and Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday daytime hours during summer.
Remote Work: This is an on-site position with the potential for limited remote work based on capabilities.
Compensation: The hourly compensation range for this position is $18–$19 USD . The compensation provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
• Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews
• Coordinate interview schedules and communicate with candidates
• Support the onboarding process for new hires and assist with orientation and training
• Prepare employee-related documentation and reports
• Assist HR Business Partners in responding to employee inquiries and maintaining compliance
• Help organize employee engagement activities and events
• Participate in HR meetings and contribute to discussions on employee relations
• Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision
• Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours
• Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned
Basic Qualifications: (required)
• Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Valid driver’s license
• Available for 12 weeks during the summer
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting recruiting or HR functions
• Familiarity with HR systems or tools
• Passion for team culture, people operations, and solving real workplace puzzles
