Role Overview

PIC North America, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Digital Phenotyping Field Engineer to join our team. This is a U.S.–based remote position with up to 40 % travel. The Digital Phenotyping Field Engineer installs, maintains, and optimizes digital phenotyping equipment and manages the resulting data pipeline. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective integration and use of cutting-edge technology in our phenotyping systems.

 

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

You Will

  • Deploy and support existing digital technologies developed by PIC’s in-house digital phenotyping engineers
  • Maintain reliable data transfers from farm sites to on-prem and cloud compute resources
  • Install, troubleshoot, and provide hardware support of remote digital phenotyping platforms
  • Execute test plans to evaluate third-party digital tools for performance-trait measurement
  • Maintain quality control of data capture and labeling systems
  • Communicate project status and results to stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain systems to automate statistical data summarization and visualization

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • Associate's degree in IT or Engineering related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience installing and supporting network-connected equipment at the consumer or prosumer level including but not limited to switches, cabling, and security cameras
  • Experience writing Python and/or R scripts for data analysis
  • Proficiency with MS Office plus scripting languages and SQL databases
  • Experience with installing and managing digital equipment or sensors in field environments.
  • Strong understanding of data collection, management, and analysis.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with digital phenotyping systems and related software tools
  • Knowledge of data management platforms and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Familiarity with farm or agriculture-based operations
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed environment
