Role Overview

PIC North America, a Genus company, is at the forefront of livestock innovation with an exciting opportunity to help support the global launch of a groundbreaking product: a gene-edited pig resistant to Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS), one of the most widespread, costly, and devastating diseases in global pig production. The PRRS Resistant Pig (PRP) is one of the first commercial gene edits in the livestock industry and is poised to deliver transformative, end-to-end benefits across the pork value chain. 

 

PIC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the successful commercial rollout of the PRRS Resistant Pig across all areas of the business. This individual will manage a diverse portfolio of projects, foster alignment across cross-functional teams, and contribute directly to project execution, ensuring a seamless transition from scientific innovation to commercial success. The Senior Project Manager will sit at the center of the PRP program, ensuring alignment, clarity, and momentum across the business. You will project manage across PIC and Genus business functions while also directly contributing to execution of project tasks. This position is located in Hendersonville, TN with hybrid work options coming into the office 1-3 days a week.

 

The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem solving who is highly organized, relationship-focused, curious and skilled at navigating complexity. The candidate also possesses strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

 

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $140,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

 

You Will

  • Support business SMEs in the completion of individual projects that support end product needs.
  • Identify risks, gaps, or inefficiencies and work with program leads to propose solutions to keep teams moving forward.
  • Assist in the broader change management effort as PRP moves from an R&D-led initiative into a commercial product under PIC.
  • Ensure consistent use of project management tools and processes; maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Contribute to building project management best practices, tools, and templates within the PRP team.
  • Develop project management plans for streamlining execution of areas such as commercial activation, marketing, communications, stakeholder engagement, and more.
  • Coordinate input from internal global teams to meet key milestones.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, project plans, including risk logs, issues tracking, RACI matrices, and post-project reviews.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with PIC leadership on project status and outcomes.
  • Support the ongoing support of the PRP program.
  • Safety Statement: Ensure adherence to the Company’s Safety Program requirements and guidelines.

  • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
  • Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • University degree required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project or program management in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, including experience working across technical and commercial teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or PMP certification
  • Familiarity with agriculture, animal health, or life sciences industries
