Role Overview

This is a pivotal, high-impact leadership role responsible for unlocking rapid commercial growth across a diverse and opportunity-rich region. With a strong focus on acceleration, this role will drive aggressive market growth, margin improvement, and customer penetration in strategically important and growth markets. The postholder will lead and execute company strategy and the commercial agenda across sales, service, and customer experience – translating bold growth ambitions into actionable plans and sustained performance. Success will be defined by commercial stretch, speed of execution, and the ability to turn potential into profitable reality. 

The salary range for this position is 84,000 - 150,000 EUR. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

 

We would also consider employees working in other countries where Genus does business in mainland Europe. Compensation and benefits would be aligned to that country.

You Will

Commercial Growth Strategy & Execution – 30%

  • Shape and deliver an ambitious commercial growth strategy across the region, targeting significant revenue uplift, market share expansion, and margin gains.
  • Identify and exploit underdeveloped market opportunities, challenger positions, and disruptive entry points.
  • Translate strategy into agile operational & commercial excellence plans that drive measurable commercial performance at pace.
  • This role will be pivotal in implementing the ABS strategy and delivering two of our four strategic priorities: commercial excellence and business transformation.

Sales Acceleration & Performance Delivery – 25%

  • Set bold revenue and growth targets across all markets & desired segments, with clear accountability for delivery against KPIs.
  • Lead sales activation plans, pipeline acceleration, and customer conversion strategies to drive rapid results.
  • Monitor and course-correct in real time to maintain momentum and exceed commercial targets.
  • The role demands agility and high accountability, particularly in our increasingly matrixed environment – where there may be all the responsibility, but not always all the authority.

Market Development & Customer Expansion – 15%

  • Deepen customer penetration within existing segments while identifying new segments & business opportunities. 
  • Leverage customer insights to tailor offerings, improve service models, and create compelling value propositions.
  • Champion commercial innovation and drive adoption of new technologies, services, or product approaches that support growth.
  • Contributing to our business transformation agenda, this role will explore untapped customer segments and support innovative routes to market.

Commercial Leadership & Talent Development – 15%

  • Lead and energise cross-functional teams across sales, service, and customer operations, ensuring high levels of engagement, accountability, and delivery.
  • Build local leadership capability and succession through hands-on coaching, talent development, and a performance-focused culture.
  • Shape and scale the team structure to ensure the right capability and capacity is in place to drive commercial performance across a broader regional footprint.
  • This individual must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills to drive change and actively contribute to the development of the next generation of leaders across the region.
  • A collaborative approach will be essential to succeed in a matrixed environment that requires strong influence and alignment skills.

Financial & Operational Discipline – 10%

  • Own regional P&L accountability, with a focus on revenue OP maximisation, cost efficiency, cash generation, and healthy & profitable growth.
  • Use data to inform commercial decisions, optimise pricing strategies, and prioritise high-return investments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to inform business decisions at both regional and global levels.

Risk Management & Governance – 5%

  • Anticipate and manage commercial, political, and operational risks across high-variability markets.
  • Ensure adherence to local regulations, internal controls, and Genus ABS’s compliance framework.
  • Promote ethical, commercially sound decision-making and safeguard brand reputation as the business scales.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of driving accelerated commercial growth across international or growth markets.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to execute at pace and adapt rapidly to market shifts.
  • Exceptional leadership presence, with the ability to inspire high performance across diverse cultures.
  • Must possess change leadership capability and a passion for developing others, to lead through transformation and build future leadership talent.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed structure with an ability to influence across functions and geographies is critical.
  • Financial fluency and strong command of commercial analytics.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages highly advantageous.
