Role Overview

Join Genus as a Corporate Development Assistant Director / Senior Manager and help shape the future of global agriculture and biotech. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions, investments, and market entry strategies. You’ll work directly with executive leadership, gaining exposure to board-level decision-making and cross-functional operations, while contributing to transformation in a fast-moving, purpose-driven business.

Ideal for professionals from top-tier consulting (Big 4 or equivalent) or corporate finance backgrounds seeking a dynamic, strategic role in a growth-focused, mission-led organization.

 

This role is a hybrid position visiting our Basingstoke office twice per month with travel also an essential part of the role with expected travel to our offices in Wisconsin, USA

You Will

  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans for Genus and its business units, with a focus on M&A and market expansion.
  • Monitor global market trends and competitive intelligence across agriculture, biotech, and adjacent sectors.
  • Source, evaluate, and execute investment and acquisition opportunities aligned with company priorities.
  • Build and manage M&A pipelines; prepare briefings for executive leadership and board discussions.
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence and support post-deal integration efforts.
  • Cultivate strategic alliances and partnerships that drive innovation and market leadership.
  • Maintain and enhance robust financial models to support deal analysis and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, operations) and external advisors.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years' experience in Corporate Finance, M&A, Strategy, or Transaction Services.
  • ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced financial modelling and business case development.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, fast-paced projects with high attention to detail.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting to executive audiences.
  • Track record of working in or with consulting firms, investment banks, or corporate development teams.

Tackling climate change:
