Role Overview

Are you passionate about building impactful solutions with Microsoft Power Platform?

At Genus, we’re looking for a Power Platform Technical Lead to shape the future of our digital transformation.

This is a senior hands-on technical role where you’ll architect and evolve enterprise-grade solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dynamics 365.

As the go-to expert, you’ll drive best practices, mentor developers, and lead the design of scalable, integrated systems that power real-world outcomes in agriculture and biotechnology.

If you thrive in a role that blends deep technical expertise with strategic influence—without people management—this could be your next big move.

This is a remote role with monthly meetings in one of our two offices in the UK, Stapeley and Basingstoke

You Will

  • Solution Architecture: Design scalable Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages) aligned with business needs and IT strategy.
  • Platform Evolution: Lead technical implementation, upgrades, and feature rollouts. Optimize existing apps and flows for performance and usability.
  • Integration: Ensure seamless integration between Dynamics 365 modules and Power Platform using tools like Dataverse and Dual Write.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor developers and analysts, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices in solution design and development.
  • Delivery: Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. Oversee end-to-end delivery from design to deployment.
  • Governance: Implement ALM practices using CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps), enforce security and compliance standards, and maintain coding/documentation standards.
  • Collaboration: Partner with ERP/CRM admins, Data & Analytics teams, and other IT functions to ensure cohesive system performance and data integration.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor solution health, resolve issues, and recommend new features (e.g. AI Builder, Power Fx) to enhance capabilities.

Requirements

  • Power Platform Expertise: 5+ years of experience with Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven), Power Automate, and ideally Power Pages and Power BI.
  • Licensing & Capacity Management: Monitor usage, manage capacity, and ensure cost-effective licensing compliance.
  • Dynamics 365 Knowledge: Strong understanding of D365 modules and Dataverse. Experience with customizations, plugins (C#), and form logic (JavaScript).
  • Integration: Proficient in data synchronization tools (e.g. Dual Write), REST APIs, and designing consistent data models.
  • Development Skills: Skilled in C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, T-SQL/FetchXML, Git, and Power Fx. Familiarity with Power Platform CLI is a plus.
  • Leadership: Experience guiding teams, mentoring, and ensuring quality in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • ALM & DevOps: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and release processes.
  • Security & Governance: Knowledge of role-based access, DLP policies, and Microsoft’s Center of Excellence toolkit.
  • Communication: Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills. Able to translate technical concepts clearly and document solutions effectively.

Prefered additional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred certifications: PL-400, PL-600, or relevant Dynamics 365 credentials.
