Role Overview

PIC, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Senior Purchasing Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain effective tactics to source quality products and services at competitive pricing. This position will build and enhance supplier relationships, leverage spending globally, drive and implement best practices, negotiate/uphold contractual agreements and vendor service levels.  The Senior Purchasing Specialist will develop product cost savings targets based on aggressive, forward-oriented goals and provide periodic reporting of performance against targets. This role will have a significant influence over the procurement activity of the business circa $100 million in scope per year.  

 

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a skilled negotiator and have proven abilities to cultivate client relationships. The successful candidate is also a strategic thinker who possesses a strong understanding of risk management, analytic skills, and time-management abilities. 

 

The position is located in our Hendersonville, TN office. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. 

You Will

  • Develop and execute the PIC sourcing strategy and goals, as well as communicate action plans to stakeholders. 
  • Work closely with key personnel to implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure quality of product and services at optimal cost, lead time, and risk levels. 
  • Collaborate with the legal department to best represent PIC on procurement negotiations and contract/agreement verbiage. 
  • Leverage global spend, in defined areas, and drives the implementation of best practices, cost reduction and continuous improvements. 
  • Develop, update and uphold the new vendor and sourcing policy to ensure consistency with the company requirements, standards, and practices.   
  • Maintain and strengthen the vendor/supplier relationships and source new and/or alternate vendors/suppliers as needed. 
  • Respond to purchasing gaps and use knowledge gained through industry, supplier, and market analysis to address disparities and discrepancies. 
  • Develop and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to drive accountability and performance improvement. 
  • Identify procurement risks (supply disruptions, single-source dependency, compliance issues) and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with relevant departments. 
  • Lead structured supplier evaluations, audits, and business reviews to ensure alignment with company objectives, quality standards, and continuous improvement goals. 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications (required): 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline. 
  • Year of experience: 5 -8 years of buyer/procurement/purchasing experience, including negotiating supplier contracts and agreements. 
  • Travel: domestic and international travel required. 
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous leadership experience.
