Role Overview

Genus are looking to introduce 3 new BI Developer positions to the Global IT Team to support the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365. 


You will work as part our growing, global Business Intelligence team and report directly to the Business Intelligence Team Leader. Through your partnership with business units, you will play an integral role to enabling our global business to achieve the vision and mission.


You will:

  • Own and complete project tasks as part of the global digital transformation including the development and testing of change in the data warehouse, analysis services, PowerBI dataset and reporting areas
  • Ensure that all work is carried through the environments, source controlled with regularity and deployments packages are robust and well organised. Ensuring all conflicts in this area are merged/escalated effectively
  • Support and monitor business-as-usual processes as directed including undertaking rootcause analysis, advising remediation options and if required delivering a solution including delivering any early lifecycle support as needed
  • Suppport operational and business-as-usual change requests and issues, completing change request tasks as assigned, through to completion of Early life support
  • Work closely with data architects, data modeller, and software developers to ensure data lineage is properly designed and captured for business intelligence solutions
  • Working with developers, architects, analysts and product owners to ensure the testing script is understood and that the acceptance tests track the desired functionality
  • Identify, report, and fix material bugs and deficiencies in the tools used, utilising internal and external resources
  • Map and document our business intelligence processes and environment
  • Develop, maintain, and document our business intelligence development standards
  • Architect business intelligence solutions for new and existing business intelligence reporting solutions for different business units
  • Train and upskill the wider team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver Microsoft Azure based enterprise data warehousing and reporting capabilities
  • Work as part of our QA team to write robust and reusable testing scripts for our business intelligence solutions
  • Enhance our extraction, transformation, and load processes and increase data quality and value across our different platforms
  • Develop self-service, self-development capabilities and undertake advanced data visualisation for different business units across the enterprise


  • Capable in SSIS, SSAS, Microsoft Azure, PowerBI, Data Factory and Data Bricks
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Proven experience development and architectural design of a Microsoft SQL Server based BI environment. This includes, but is not limited to, the design and development of Data Warehouse based on dimensional modelling.
  • Working knowledge of a system development methodology and project management
  • Able to work in and manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines
  • Proven business analytical skills
  • Experienced in partnering with key business leaders and other team members to ensure data and BI Reporting Solutions meet and exceed business expectations
