Role Overview

Genus is seeking an HR Project Portfolio Manager to lead and manage internal HR projects from initiation through completion. This role is pivotal in driving strategic HR initiatives that span multiple disciplines—including HR, Finance, IT, Operations, and senior business leaders—to ensure consistent execution and successful outcomes. The HR Project Portfolio Manager will develop business cases, secure leadership support, manage budgets and timelines, and deliver projects that enhance organizational effectiveness. 

 

This position is located in our DeForest, WI Office.

 

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. 

You Will

  • Identify HR improvement opportunities and create business cases for approval. 
  • Design project plans, including timelines, change management touchpoints, and resource allocation. 
  • Launch and manage projects to ensure delivery on time, on budget, and within specifications. 
  • Develop KPIs to measure success and ongoing benefits of implemented changes. 
  • Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and share insights with HR leadership. 
  • Create project documentation such as RACI charts and process flow diagrams for training 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required) 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; MBA preferred. 
  • Recognized project management certification (PMP, PMP-PBA, etc.). 
  • 5+ years leading international projects; HR project experience preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Continuous improvement experience (Agile or Lean Six Sigma). 
  • Travel: Up to 20% domestic and international.
