The Supply Chain Director will design, globalize, and execute the next generation of transport, biosecurity, and gene dissemination services within our Global Supply Chain (GSC). This is a high-impact leadership role with direct influence on the safe, efficient, and bio secure movement of elite pig genetics worldwide.

This position will be responsible for owning and deploying a Transport Excellence Operating Model that defines the global standard for live animal logistics, genetic dissemination, and transport biosecurity. This position will also provide enterprise-level strategy while enabling regionally executable, risk-mitigated transport systems that protect animal health, ensure regulatory compliance, and enable scalable global growth.

This position demands a leader who can translate strategy into disciplined execution, mentor and elevate the teams within GSC Services, and embed continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability across transport, export, and biosecurity operations. The successful candidate is able work in a culturally diverse, fast-paced environment, including the ability to multi-task and anticipate needs while managing competing priorities and maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbally and in written form, as well as organizational skills are pivotable to succeed in this role.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $165,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

You Will

  • Architect, build, and globalize a world-class breeding stock transport framework leveraging advanced technology, standardized training, audit-ready systems, and disciplined execution to eliminate or mitigate disease transmission risk across owned farms, contract operations, and customer deliveries.
  • Design and operationalize a robust KPI ecosystem that converts data into action. Metrics will include third-party audit outcomes, fleet telematics, trailer history visibility, delivery efficiency, animal welfare indicators, and handling performance, ensuring transparent, defensible, and continuously improving transport operations.
  • Work in partnership with Health Assurance, defining the global strategy, facility standards, and training systems for owned and contracted truck wash operations. Drive best-in-class sanitation protocols for trailers, tractor cabs, and equipment compartments to minimize biosecurity risk and variability.
  • Lead global transport process development and compliance for the commercialization of EverThrive® PRRS-resistant pigs, ensuring FDA-aligned protocols, validated procedures, and comprehensive training for internal teams and transport partners worldwide.
  • Collaborate with Global Business Unit leaders through the Export Strategy Committee to design and execute a cohesive global gene dissemination strategy, improving visibility, coordination, and proactive supply chain planning across regions.
  • Identify and deploy innovative logistics, routing, and regulatory strategies to reduce total landed cost while maintaining animal welfare, biosecurity integrity, and delivery reliability across international markets.
  • Develop and maintain export and gene dissemination KPIs measuring cost efficiency, welfare outcomes, biosecurity exposure, regulatory performance, cycle-time efficiency, enabling data-backed decision-making and continuous optimization.
  • Build scalable systems that will intentionally develop the existing high-potential talent, preparing team members for senior leadership roles through mentorship, technical mastery, and exposure to global initiatives.
  • Align people, skills, and workload to ensure balanced execution, operational resilience, and innovation capacity, while sustaining engagement and long-term performance.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with deep exposure to livestock production systems, animal behavior, transportation logistics, and biosecurity risk management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in transport systems, logistics technology, biosecurity protocols, and disease risk mitigation, with a clear understanding of the operational and financial impact of disease events.
  • A recognized personal brand built on operational excellence, integrity, and trusted stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven ability to challenge legacy models, introduce calculated risk, and drive industry-defining innovation in gene dissemination, transport biosecurity, and global logistics.
  • Skilled in diplomatic leadership, aligning diverse global stakeholders around a shared vision without reliance on command-and-control structures.
  • Experience operating effectively in matrixed, international organizations, with the discipline to ensure global standards remain locally adaptable and executable.
