Role Overview

Are you looking for an career opportunity working outdoors? Join Genus ABS' high performing, friendly team supporting local farmers of all sizes (from 150 to 1,000 cows) across Lanarkshire and Ayrshire.

 

This position partners with two experienced Reproductive Management Specialists to deliver service solutions to dairy and beef farmers. Your working day will include pre-planned, routine farm visits and call-out services to farmers requiring your skills and expertise to improve the fertility of cows on farm. Previous livestock experience is not essential, our team of skilled professionals will provide you with the learning and development opportunities to excel at your job. Your initial training programme will take up to three months to complete. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Visit customer farms to heat-detect cows and analyse computer records before artificially inseminating the appropriate animals
  • Support the farm team to improve fertility within the herd; producing healthier and more productive cows to meet the business goals
  • Work with team members to provide outstanding customer service and animal health and welfare; increasing customer loyalty to Genus ABS' products and services
  • Make informed decisions based on the genetic plan, animal behaviour and data you have available; identifying solutions and presenting recommendations to improve your personal and team performance

Requirements

  • Full clean driving license
  • Availability to work a varied shift pattern (Monday to Sunday) alternating with your team members, starting early in the morning (average 9.5 hour working day)
