Role Overview

Are you looking to gain experience and accelerate your career with a people-centric, global business? Genus is professionalising the Audit and Risk functions with the introduction of two new full-time, permanent positions to the international, remote working team:

The Genus Audit and Risk function contribute to the business model by providing objective and independent internal control assessments and solutions for effective and sustainable business practices. The Audit and Risk function is starting on a journey to improve the audit process and ways of working, driven by the global implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The role of Audit Senior Manager works closely with the Head of Audit & Risk to provide the opportunity to shape the function and procedures directly.

 

The Audit Senior Manager is responsible for all elements of the audit plan delivery, including planning, execution, reporting and budget management, working individually or with the support of a senior auditor. In addition, the Audit Senior Manager will perform process and control reviews designed to provide assurance over strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks of the Group and its worldwide businesses and protect value for stakeholders. Audit reviews require communication and interaction with senior business leaders and teams. As a result, the Audit Senior Manager will need to apply advanced skills and competencies and adapt procedures, techniques, and tools to deliver internal audit services throughout the organisation effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Individually plan and work as part of a team to perform audits and issue internal audit reports
    • Perform follow-up reviews and regular assessments of the implementation of internal audit recommendations and escalate delayed implementation of agreed actions
  • Support the Group risk management process
    • Help facilitate risk assessment workshops
    • Maintain risk registers and other supporting documentation
  • Apply independent judgment and initiative to identify risks, evaluate issues, and help in developing workable mitigating solutions in line with business objectives and leading best practices
  • Lead management discussions and utilise judgement to solve problems
  • Undertake regular fraud risk assessments and investigations
  • Participate in projects

Requirements

  • Degree-level education in business administration, accounting, or a relevant field
  • Professional certification or equivalent in a relevant area (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
  • Substantial auditing experience relevant work experience
    • Knowledge or experience of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
    • Knowledge of and experience of business processes (e.g. Procure to pay, order to cash), ideally within a multinational company
    • Knowledge and understanding of audit delivery and practices, internal control frameworks and risks management activities and skill in applying internal auditing principles and practices
  • Ability to conduct global travel as required to complete the nine audits each year
