Role Overview

Genus ABS are recruiting a UK Valiant Manager The successful candidate will operate nationally.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager with a dotted line into the Commercial Director, this role is primarily responsible for achieving Genus ABS annual sales and business objectives in respect of the Valiant udder care range. Working alongside our existing field team of Business Managers and their sales people, the successful candidate will promote, support and expand sales of Valiant with particular focus on our Key and Strategic accounts. The ability to collaborate and engage with key stakeholders will be key to succeeding in this role and within the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Become the ‘Valiant person’ both within the business and with Genus customers
  • Deliver and drive sales and technical activities in the field to achieve the Business Unit objectives
  • Be the person to contact in the event of an udderhealth issue, offeringsolution focused advice
  • Work closely with our udderhealth product provider, ensuring we deliver on our promises to customers
  • Be conversant with milking technology, and it potential effects on udderhealth
  • Collaborate and engage with our team of Business Managers, sales people, technical advisors and business units with an interest in the customer relationship
  • Understand sales targets and budgets, ensuring delivery of KPIs by tracking, monitoring and taking required actions
  • Identify networks and develop strong working relationships with key customers and customer groups including key opinion leaders
  • Encourage colleagues to take ownership of sales gained in their customer bases
  • Work with marketing & technical teams to aid the sales process in line with marketing plans and campaign activities
  • Influence territory plans to maximise coverage of customer base and achieve maximum return on investment
  • Employ a consultative sales approach with our customer’s decision makers at all levels
  • Analyse and manage data to identify trends, potential challenges and customers’ needs
  • Ensure sustainable growth by continually coaching our professional sales team to meet and exceed company goals
  • Perform all duties required to maintain and grow sustainable business while adherring to Genus’ compliance policy


  • Previous sales experience
  • Excellent understanding of sales processes and account management
  • Good communication skills both orally and written
  • Excellent coaching ability
  • Persuasive with ability to influence others
  • Good level of financial and business acumen
  • Understanding of bovine udderhealth is preferred
  • Competent use of relevant IT including in the presentation of data to a high standard, and the use of CRM
