The Graduate Future Leaders Programme September 2023
The Graduate Programme is entering its fifth year anniversary and has gone from strength to strength, what started as an idea to support and attract creative, driven, enthusiastic and diverse leaders has seen a 100% success rate for all intakes to be offered a permanent role within Genus and every one of the Graduates remains within Genus – a feat that not only re-emphasises how important the Programme is but how much the Graduates enjoy it.
Joining the company through the Graduate Programme will provide you with an opportunity to understand the business, build strong relationships, participate in continuous improvement projects and set career objectives, all of which are about preparing you for a leadership role, supporting the development of your skills and knowledge and helping you gain the necessary experience to ensure that you have a successful and fulfilling career within Genus Plc.
As a Graduate Future Leader, you will work as part of a dedicated, driven and supportive team, as your skills and knowledge develop over time, you will get involved in all areas of the business and your responsibility will increase. You have opportunities to expand your knowledge and you will build and develop strong relationships within the business and wider business teams. You will receive ongoing training and support through a structured training plan to aid you with your business knowledge and support you on your journey of becoming a leader.
The 18 month Programme is split into three separate rotations, each lasting six months.
Rotation one (6 months) you will spend six months with Genus ABS, the largest global cattle breeding business and during the rotation each Graduate will; Build knowledge of Genus ABS’ processes and customers • Receive training in our products and services • Contribute to the Sales team in your region • Join team members on regular ‘ride outs’ to support your learning • Put their learnings into practice working with our customers • Contribute to important group business projects.
In Rotation two (6 months) you will spend six months in Promar International and transition into our consultancy business, and during the rotation each Graduate will: Build knowledge of Promar International’s processes and customers • Receive farm consultancy training • Contribute to the Consultancy team in a set region • Join team members on regular ‘ride outs’ to support learning • Put learnings into practice on farm • Manage a business project.
Your final rotation (6 months) is tailored to your knowledge, skills, and career aspirations, put simply you are in the driving seat and can choose where in the business to spend your last six months of the Programme.
The programme involves a mix of home working and travelling throughout the UK facilitated by a company car and fuel/hotel expenses.
