Role Overview

Genus, a global leader in bovine and porcine genetics is running an Enterprise wide initiative to manage & migrate several legacy systems to a new Microsoft cloud & windows environments. This system will cover all parts of the business: Supply Chain, Production, MSE and much more. This position will be the senior role working in an Agile environment involving full SDLC covering UK time zone (covering upto 5:00 PM UK time). Role reports to Development Manager based out of Deforest, Wisconsin, USA.  

 

The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies like .Net frameworks, Azure cloud, RDBMS (SQL Server), WinUI and the Development Lifecycle.  Along with Technical responsibilities for delivering business requirements, the role holder would mentor junior members and take responsibilities for timely delivery of assigned activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the change control management process of future changes, releases, updates and enhancements of Entereprise Applications.
    • Including managing peer code review process
  • Play a key role as a .Net, SQL, Azure cloud and other Microsoft technology expert ensuring proposed designs meet the business requirements, and best practice standards.
  • Provide guidance for system changes and enhancements to the rest of the Enterprise Applications (Custom Apps) team.
  • The above list is not exhaustive and the post holder will undertake such other duties as required.
  • Work on UK time zone

Requirements

  • Experience with the latest .Net technologies (Web & Windows)
  • Experience with the latest SQL Servers / Database development
  • Good understanding of OOPS concepts and coding principles
  • Experience In WebAPI development and hosting
  • Microsoft Visual Studio, Lifecycle Services and Azure Cloud environment architecture.
  • Well exposed to the Full Lifecycle of Implementation projects, Post Implementation Support and Business as usual support.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in Agile (Scrum), which includes project planning, execution, risk management and resource management.
  • Strong Knowledge and expertise in DevOps Solution delivery and strategy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including ensuring team standards for Technical Documentation and Code Commenting
  • Strong technical expertise and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Be flexible with respect to job responsibilities and consistently strive to be an effective team member.
  • Broad experience across a number of IT disciplines.
  • Experience in working in a fast paced and cross functional environment.
