Role Overview

Responsible for driving profitable growth through the provision of Technical Services, through effective

the leadership of Specialists and Service Team Leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the Service Business within your Region to deliver year-on-year growth
  • Responsible for the P&L, maximizing the region profitability by a combination of revenue growth, margin enhancement, and effective cost management
  • Management of staff through appraisals/ training/ development/ performance management and coaching: resulting in the up-skilling of the workforce delivering increased capability and contributions to the business.
  • Conduct regular Ride-outs with each of your direct reports
  • Work with the Regional Business Manager and sales team to identify opportunities for RMS growth and support the effective implementation of RMS service to new customers
  • Help to develop and promote effective working relationships between Service and Sales teams to maximise profitability and promote a positive working environment for all
  • Engage internal subject matter experts for training/coaching opportunities team and to maximise growth opportunities with customers and prospects i.e. Technical Services team, Genetic Services team, etc.
  • Organise regular team meetings/team activities to ensure team members are informed, updated, and motivated
  • Represent Genus products, services, and people to customers, both internal and external, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Promote the business and products as required at shows, sales, and through organizing promotions.
  • Continuously build network contacts to identify competitor activity, opportunities, risks, and talent network
  • Works continuously with all support functions, including but not limited to Finance, IT, Marketing, HR, and Health and Safety.
  • With the Service Team Leaders, engage & support in any people management requirements as needed i.e. recruitment, absence management, and conduct issues.
  • Continually review and evaluate service flask revenue and efficiency, and identify/take remedial action where required.
  • Actively participate in monthly Regional Service Manager meetings, and assist peers with any matters in their Region where required.
  • Work with the Regional Field Support Manager to ensure the optimization of the Regional fleet of vehicles.
  • Willingness to be involved/assist in key projects.
  • Take personal responsibility for ensuring that the Company's Health and Safety Regulations are complied with at all times, both from a personal and team perspective- taking care not to place yourself in a position likely to endanger your safety or well-being both on the farm and when driving company vehicles.
  • To maintain a high level of customer service within the area, by presenting a professional image, including the maintenance and cleanliness of Company vehicles and equipment, and to comply with the Company's hygiene regulations at all times.
  • To work as a team player to achieve overall business objectives in designated areas.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably requested by your line manager.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in people management focused on the development of team
  • Background in direct sales or within an agricultural business
  • Effective time management, priority organization
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt conversation across people at all levels
  • The ability to work under their own initiative
  • Microsoft Office skills
