Role Overview

PIC - Germany, a Genus brand, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Commercial Director for PIC Germany to develop and implement a strategy for selling and driving the PIC value proposition in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland. This position is located in Hannover, Germany and hybrid work in an option. Reporting to the Commercial Director for Northern Europe, the Commercial Director has primary responsibility for leading and developing a team of Key Account Managers to identify new commercial opportunities, drive business and market share growth along with profitability in the area while analyzing and reporting industry and market trends at the country level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Regional Commercial Director in the development of the strategic customer initiatives to deliver profit targets and lifetime customer value.
• Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers and business partners to deliver a profitable business model.
• Grow and develop and create a high performing team of Key Account Managers. Motivate and lead the team to increase revenue, profitability, and market share.
• Prepare sales forecasts and revenues for area of responsibility.
• Negotiate, sustain, and renew customer contracts.
• Prepare and manage the annual budget for area of responsibility, monitor and adjust sales operations as appropriate to meet forecasts.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key industry influencers and customers.
• Work with all customer interfaces within accounts to influence, develop and implement improved ways of realizing the full genetic performance potential in customer farms.
• Develop strong relationships with enabling functions; Marketing; Supply Chain; Technical Services, Genetic Services, HR and Finance to ensure success of the region and the delivery of the strategic goals.
• Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision.
• Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
• Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree: Agricultural or Animal Sciences preferred.
• Extensive sales experience in the industry; modern pork production experience desired.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong negotiation skills and constructing contracts that mitigate risk and result in “win-win” relationships with customers.
• Innovative, highly self-motivated with the ability to respond to changing demands.
• Excellent IT skills - Microsoft office proficient including excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written English skills essential.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to coach and mentor.
• Understands own leadership style and varies it to gain hearts and minds. Encourages and respects different styles.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience working in a matrixed organization.
• Modern pork production experience
