Supply Chain - Bull Barns Intern

ABS Global, a Genus Company, is on the hunt for a self-motivated Supply Chain – Barns Intern who thrives in a team and has a passion for ethical livestock care. If you’ve got livestock experience, a valid driver’s license, and aren’t afraid to get your boots dirty, this is your chance to spend the summer wrangling bulls, not spreadsheets! You'll be up bright and early (5:30 a.m., sorry night owls) to care for our bovine VIPs and assist in quality control for—you guessed it—bovine semen. Sound like a unique gig? It is. Multiple positions available and are at our Leeds, WI or Dekorra, WI Facilities. Both locations are within close driving distance of our DeForest Headquarters Office (Greater Madison Area).This position works 40 hours per week; Monday – Friday, 5:30am – 2:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.

The hourly compensation range for this position is $18.00 USD. The compensation provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

• Provide excellent care and maintenance of the bull population.
• Ensure upkeep and security of the facilities.
• Assist with the treatment of bulls as directed by Veterinary staff.
• Work within a team to process, package, and ensure quality control of bovine semen.
• Assist in receiving, warehousing, and shipment of products.
• Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision.
• Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
• Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: (required)

• Current High School graduate or enrolled as a sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
• Large animal experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Available for 12 weeks during the summer.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
